Ring Games

PKR Poker only supports ring games in Texas Holdem and Omaha high and hi/lo. They do provide a wide range in stakes spreading from the $0.05/$0.10 tables up to $50/$100 however during this review we could not find many active games above $5/$10. The player base peaks at 2,000 real money players and between the two variations supported you shouldn’t have too many difficulties finding a game in the low limit stakes during peak hours. PKR takes a fixed rate at 5% capped at $3 per hand. The poker room does support the no flop no drop rule.

Tournaments

The tournament schedule is consistently growing with the majority of the tournaments hosted in re-buys, guarantees and freezeouts. PKR Poker does provide frequent freerolls typically with low prize pools, except on the last weekend of each month when they host their $10,000 monthly freeroll. Step tournament were recently introduced to the line-up in addition to bounty games. The Steps are named Phase tournaments and all players to enter at just $3 or by using your player points and work your way up to the final level which offers a $700 1st place finish. In total there are 6 levels in the Phase tournaments and competition in these games is often weak and passive. The sit and go lobby provides a low to moderate buyins however you will wait longer for these games to fill than other rooms.

Software

By far the most impressive feature at PKR is the software program which is the only one of its kind on the market to date. The program is the only one currently available which provides a 100% 3 dimensional poker room. PKR Poker is only available for Windows players and we suggest you check the requirements for the download as this program will require a larger than normal space on your hard drive. The poker room provides over a dozen different characters for you to choose from as your avatar with each one providing more than 50 user control features. Your avatars will talk, walk, dance and even perform chip tricks. The tables provide various table views from full view mode, to top view, side view among others which is controlled by you. At any time you can switch the view of the table to best suit your preference. The program also provides the standard features including in lobby statistics. These stats will display the viewed flop percentage, number of hands per hour and average pot size in addition to hand history files located in the main menu. Other features include; preferred seating, four colour decks, find a friend, and multi-tabling.
